Jacolyn Anne (Jackie) Connolly died peacefully on Thursday, August 21st, 2025. Jackie was born June 8th, 1935 to Katherine Hayes Connolly and former Tax Collector John F. Connolly at Stamford Hospital. She attended Rogers School and graduated as salutatorian from Sacred Heart Academy in Stamford, class of 1952. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Foods and Nutrition from Carnegie Tech (now Carnegie Mellon University) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

After graduation, she moved to New York City where she worked at Vogue Pattern Service, Glamour, Insider's Newsletter of Look magazine, and Good Housekeeping. She returned to Stamford in the 1980s to begin a career in medical publishing, first with Patient Care for family physicians, then with Health Communications on publications for dietitians and surgeons. She continued in the field with Cliggott Publishing and finally with Mary Ann Liebert on journals for neurosurgeons.

Jackie was a Past President of the Shippan Point Garden Club and was honored to be a lifetime Honorary Member. As a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish, she was chosen "Mother of the Year." She served for many years as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister and in later years was chair of senior activities.

Jackie is survived by her godchildren Laura Connolly, Candace Lau-Hansen, and R. Neil Tobin; her Connolly Cousins Joseph P Connolly of Orange, William Connelly and Rita Romano of Stamford, Lois Somody of Somers, NY, Marge Connelly of Norwalk, Martin Connelly of Stuart, FL, James Connelly of Sarasota, FL, Dr. Nancy Brown Connolly of Ventura, CA, and Marybeth Connolly of York, Maine, and their families; her Hayes Cousins Kay Bennett, Raymond Clifford, Carol Dempsey of County Cork, Ireland, and Pauline Insley of Sydney, Australia, and many Hayes cousins in Ireland, England, and Connecticut; and her namesake Jacolyn Anne Carfrae of Des Moines, IA. She mourned the loss of her godson, Christopher Wagher.

Jackie loved gardening, cooking, knitting, traveling, visits to Ireland to see her relations, going to Celtic Thunder and IL Volo concerts with friends, holding potting parties for perennials with a hot dog luncheon for the Shippan Point Garden Club May Market, gathering fellow alumnae of Sacred Heart Academy for reunions, Sunday breakfasts after church with friends. She treasured being part of the Hayes and Connolly/Connelly Cork/Galway clans.

A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 4, 2025 and proceed to Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, 1200 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Inurnment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jackie’s memory to the Shippan Point Garden Club at 95 Intervale Road, Unit 53, Stamford CT 06905 for its Hill of Blooms project or its high school senior scholarship fund. A donation also can be made to Villanova’s Blue White Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 412, Villanova, PA 19085.
