Jahlil Powell, 15, passed away on Friday July 21, 2006 at his Home in Norwalk. Born June 6, 1991 in New Haven, CT, he is the son of Jeffrey Powell and Fulika Cassell.
He attended Rowayton Elementary School and Ponus Ridge Middle School in Norwalk.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal Grandmother, Emma B. Cassell of Stamford; paternal Grandmother and Grandfather, Dorothy and Jodell Powell Sr. of Stamford; ten Uncles, Douglas, Christian, and Frank Cassell, Jodell Jr., Edgar Lee, Cedric, Calvin, Kenny, and Tyrone Powell; two Aunts, Clara and Ernestein Flemenister; and a host of other Cousins, great Aunts and Uncles, family and friends who loved and cared for him.
He is predeceased by his maternal Grandfather, Arthur B. Cassell.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, at 10:20 AM on Thursday July 27, 2006 and proceed to Grace Evangelical Free Church, 241 Courtland Avenue, Stamford, where services will be held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Stamford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday July 26, 2006 from 6:00 8:00 PM.
