James F. �"Jim Gorman, Sr. 84, of Bonita Springs, FL passed away Tuesday May 9, 2006 at Joannes House at Hope Hospice. Jim had been a resident of Bonita Springs for the past 11 years coming from Ft. Myers Beach, FL, Old Saybrook, CT and Stamford, CT. He was born May 29, 1921 in Stamford, CT the son of the late Nicholas and Rose Ann (Carroll) Gorman.
He graduated from Stamford High School in 1938. Jim was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Navy. His career began with the Homelite Company working 25 years in their purchasing department and then he retired in 1987 from the Stamford Public School System as their Director of Purchasing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Katherine M. �"Katie Gorman of Bonita Springs, FL; a son, James F. Gorman, Jr. and his wife Dana of Pittsburgh, PA; a daughter, Patricia Ann Gorman of New York City, NY; and two grandchildren, Cole J. Gorman and Alyssa T. Gorman both of Pittsburgh, PA.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT, at 9:20 AM on Monday May 15, 2006 and proceed to St. Mary RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will then follow at St. John Cemetery, Darien. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday May 14, 2006 from 4:00 7:00 PM.
