James A. Mason, Jr. died on Tuesday, Oct. 10th, 2006 at the Stamford Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on December 5, 1921 the eldest son of the late James Mason, Sr. and Glendora Jones Mason.
�"Jimmy was a long time resident of Stamford, Connecticut. He worked at the Stamford Rolling Mills, Cerro Copper and Brass and then retired from the City of Stamford Sanitation Department. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening, sports, �"tinkering around the house and watching a good western.
James Mason, Jr. is survived by his wife, Lethonia Mason; his children, Annie Holmes, wife of the late Edward Holmes; James A. Mason III and Fran Turro; L. Janedora Howell and Bancroft; G. Janice Dutram and Drew; Raymond Mason and Rebecca. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Debra Holmes-Mason; Maurice Holmes; Elizabeth Hearns; Eva Holmes; James �"Tony Mason; Aaron Mason; and their mother, Jeannie Mason; and Tiscia Howell; David Howell, Nicole Dutram, Joshua Dutram and Shannon Mason. Ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two brothers; and three sisters also survive. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by two sisters and one brother. He had a great sense of humor, strong moral values and was a source of support to many relatives and friends.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, October 15, 2006 from 2:00pm-5:00pm and on Monday, Oct. 16, 2006 from 11:30am-12:30 pm at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT 06902. Services will be held on Monday, Oct 16, 2006 at 1:00pm at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private. www.cognetta.com
