James Earl Paight, Jr., a lifetime resident of Stamford passed away at home on Friday, March 2, 2018 of natural causes. He was born in Stamford on March 24, 1947 to the late James Paight, Sr and Eunice Phillips Paight.
James graduated from J.M. Wright Technical School and worked at Branson Instruments. He served in the Air Force for four years. He then worked at Petro Oil Co. for thirty five years as a Service Technician.
He is survived by his wife of forty nine years, Trudy (Tomczyk) and their children James Paight, III (Mel), Deb Cochrane (Michael), and Shelley Case (Phil), as well as his grandchildren, Sean, Colin, Dante, Sarah, Ryan and Joseph. He is also survived by his brother George Paight, his sister Sharon Paight and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His family is thankful for the care and support that they received from Yale New Haven Hospital and the Bennett Cancer Center and a special thank you to Pastor Douglas McArthur, Members of FUMC, and faithful friends.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 10:30 AM-12:00 PM with a funeral service to be celebrated at 12:00 PM. Pastor Douglas A. McArthur will be officiating. Interment will be private.
