James “Jimmy” Riley, 81, of Stamford passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Stamford Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born in Spring Valley , NY on May 28, 1932 to the late Lloyd and Catherine Riley.
Jimmy was a foreman at Pitney Bowes for twenty one years before his retirement and was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the US Navy.
He is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen Donohue Riley of fifty six years of Stamford, his sons Kevin Riley of Bethel, CT, Gary Riley of New York, a brother Johnny Riley of New York, four grandchildren Nikki, Maura, Katie, Meghan and one great grandchild Avery, including several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Jimmy was predeceased by his siblings Richie, Lloyd, Catherine, Marion and Janet.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 12 Noon at Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, 1200 Shippan Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jimmy’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
