Jane "Sis Lopriore Shoztic died Sunday, October 14, 2007. Born in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Constance Christiano Lopriore.
A former resident of Stamford, Jane moved to New Canaan in 1979 where she lived until her death. She worked at the Stamford Jewish Center for twenty five years. When she left the Jewish Center, she became office manager at Bi-Cultural Day School, a position she held for fifty years. She had the privilege of seeing generations of students, parents, and staff pass through her office door, which was always opened because everyone loved her. It was tradition for new students to meet Jane first because their parents would tell them to say hi to Jane and give her their love. At a Gala dinner honoring Jane in May 2000, given by the Board of Trustees and the Parents Association of Bi-Cultural, they said of Jane: "Her giving heart and generous hand have been symbols of warmth and goodness for parents, faculty, children and friends. She was a pillar of strength for her family. The first one called in times of need, in times of celebration, in times when problems needed to be solved. Jane will be thought of, missed, and remembered by her family, friends and co-workers.
She is survived by two sons, George J. Shoztic and his wife Lenore of Stamford; and Richard J. Shoztic and his wife Elaine of Stamford; four grandchildren, Kristi Buynak and her husband John; Jack Schettino; Matthew Shoztic and his wife Kathy; and Jason Shoztic; four great-grandchildren, Brooke, John, Zachary and Ryan.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Julius "Ace Shoztic; three brothers, Frank, Joseph and Anthony Lopriore; and her daughter, Barbara J. Schettino who died August 3, 2007.
