Jean Estelle Halama, 88 passed away peacefully at the Richard R. Rosenthal Hospice Residence of Stamford on April 25, 2009. Jean was born in Stamford on June 21, 1920. Daughter of the late John and Blanche Jasionowski Wisnieski.
Known as “ The Consimate Caregiver” Jean’s greatest love was caring for her entire family, especially her grandchildren and the children of dear friends. Her interests included ceramics, gardening, and especially baking where she was known for her specialty “Jean’s Famous Apple Strudel”. She also had a love of animals, while always having dogs as pets; she also adopted a cat known as “Miss Kitty”. At one time, she was an active member of St. Leo’s Senior Group.
She is survived by her husband, Michael J. Halama; two daughters, Nancy Jean Cingari and her husband “Chip”; Carol Ann Fedele, and her husband Daniel Sr.; her grandchildren, Michelle Fedele; Jennifer Cingari; Dominick Cingari, his wife Lisa and their children Salvatore and Sofia; and Daniel Fedele, Jr., his wife Deirdre, and their children Victoria and Joseph, all of Stamford.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her two brothers Ted and John Wisnieski
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Tuesday, April 28th at 9:00 am for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at St. Leo’s RC Church, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, April 27th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
