Jeanne Reid

Jeanne “Gog” Reid, 89, a resident of Ridgefield, CT passed away peacefully on Monday, September 3, 2018 in Port Charlotte, FL. She was born in New Rochelle, NY on September 16, 1928 to the late Charles and Jeannette Skidd Neumann.
Jeanne lived most of her life in Stamford, CT. She enjoyed working for Gaither International where she worked as a marketing research asst/secretary for over 20 years. She loved gardening, flowers, and birds. She was loved by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting her. She was a devoted Mother and an exceptional Grandmother, who loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She also had a love for animals, and will be missed by many of her four legged grandchildren. No matter her circumstances, she always had a beautiful smile on her face, and was always ready with words of encouragement or praise. She touched the hearts of so many, and will be sorely missed by all.
Jeanne is survived by her loving children, Colleen B. Quigley and her husband David of North Port, FL, James D. Reid of Portsmouth, NH and Kathleen M. Melahn and her husband Michael of Ridgefield, CT, as well as eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Jeanne was predeceased by her husband, David S. Reid and her son Eugene Reid.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John RC Cemetery, Darien.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jeanne’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
