Jennie Cassone
June 18, 1923 — September 22, 2006
Jennie S. Lopiano Cassone, wife of the late John A. Cassone, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 22, 2006 at her home in Stamford. She was 83. Mrs. Cassone was born in Stamford on June 18, 1923, the daughter of the late Vincent and Ersilia Tartaglia Lopiano.
She met her future husband while still a student at Stamford High School, from which she graduated in 1940. After her marriage in 1946, she devoted her life to home and family, also assisting her husband with the management of his building business.
She is survived by two daughters, Juliet Cassone of New York City, NY; and Linda Cassone of Mendota Heights, MN; three sisters, Eleanor Banks, Anne Sessa and Virginia Dombrowski; two brothers-in-law, Jerry Sessa and Gene L. Casciara; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Vera Lopiano Casciari; and five brothers, Patrick, Joseph, Thomas, Albert, and John Lopiano.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery, Darien. Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 from 4:00 7:00 PM.
