Jennie Ghiandoni

Jennie Ghiandoni, 99, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away on Friday July 7, 2006 at Norwalk Hospital. Born September 16, 1906 in Pesaro, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Fillippini Ligi.
She was a seamstress for Suburban Garment of Stamford, retiring in 1970. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union Local 146. Her family was her world, as she especially loved to cook and make clothing for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her six grandchildren, Michael Evanchik of Stratford; Robert Evanchik of Rowayton; Cathie Gerardi of Newtown; Kevin Ghiandoni of Lakewood, NJ; Debbie Tether of Newtown; and Mark Ghiandoni of Lakewood, NJ; and nine great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband of over fifty years, Jerry Ghiandoni; two daughters, Mary Evanchik and Bernice K. Leary; and a son, Rudy Ghiandoni.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday July 10, 2006 at St. Marys RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery, Darien.
