Jennie Moavero
January 1, 1918 — June 13, 2015
Jennie Mary Moavero, 97, a lifelong of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 13, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Jennie was born in Stamford on January 1, 1918 to the late Frank and Valeria Rekoz Rekos.
Jennie was a very active former member of Holy Name of Jesus RC Church. She was also a former employee of Clairol Inc. of Stamford.
Jennie is survived by her two sons Edward V. Moavero Jr. and his wife Joanne of Stamford and Michael F. Moavro and his wife Rosemarie of New York, her three grandchildren, Edward J. Moavro, Tracy Rogalski and Dawn Moavero, as well as five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Jennie is predeceased by her loving husband Edward Vincent Moavero, her brother Theodore Rekos, her three sisters, Theresa Telesco, Gladys Telesco, and Helen Battinelli and her grandson Marc Moavero.
A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Tuesday June 16, 2015 at 9:45AM and proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday June 15, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Smith House Health Care Center, 88 Rockrimmon Road, Stamford, CT 06903.
