Jerry Cacace
March 29, 1926 — September 12, 2010
Jerry F. Cacace, 84, of Stamford, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the Stamford Hospital. Born on March 29, 1926 in Mount Vernon, New York, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Anna Dizillo Cacace.
Jerry was the owner of the Eastern Auto Driving School for many years. He then went on to work for the State of Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles where he was a Motor Vehicle Inspector for 25 years, during which he spent many years teaching those with physical disabilities how to drive.
Jerry was a patient, kind and gentle man. His love for his family knew no bounds.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Anne Marie Cacace of Stamford; his son, Michael J. Cacace, Esq. and his wife Maureen of Stamford; and two grandchildren, Chrissy Cacace and Joe Cacace and his wife Stephanie.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his wife, Margaret F. Pesditsch Cacace and his son, Ronald Cacace.
A Funeral Procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 9:30AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at St. Cecilia RC Church, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT 06905. Interment will follow at St. John RC Cemetery, Darien, CT. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 4:00-8:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Jerry’s name to the Leukemia Society of America, Inc., 372 Danbury Road, Suite 200, Wilton, CT 06897 or to the Macular Degeneration Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871.
