John L. Billingsley, 75, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2013 at Stamford Hospital with his loving family by his side. John was born in Stamford on November 29, 1937 to the late John L. and Esther C. McNamara Billingsley.
John was a lifelong resident of Stamford as well as a member of the St. Mary’s RC Church Parish.
John is survived by his loving wife Joan S. Lederer Billingsley of Stamford, his daughter Esther J. Billingsley of Florida and his son Joseph L. Billingsley and his wife Anna of California, as well as two grandchildren; Christopher and Riley.
Besides his parents, John is predeceased by his brother Richard Billingsley.
A memorial mass will be held TODAY September 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at a later date. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT is honored to assist the Billingsley family with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association of Connecticut, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108.
