John T. Darling, Jr.

John T. Darling, Jr., a lifetime resident of Stamford passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the age of 71. John was born on May 17, 1954, in Stamford, CT, son of the late John and Edith Dennis Darling, Sr.

My Dad is loved by many. Between football and baseball in 1971 & 1972 he set records. I grew up with many people talking about my dad's sports and records. After high school he went on to play football in college at southern miss. (Quater back). His Football number was 5 for high school and College. When people speak of my dad they talk about how humble and selfless he was. It was always about his team, not himself. We are very heartbroken that he has passed. But we know his legend lives on. We KNOW this from all the stories about him told by friends and family. And also, told by him to those he loved and cherished.

John is survived by his loving children, his daughter Shay darling of Stamford, and his son Peter Darling of Newington. His brothers Tommy Darling of Darien and Dennis Darling of Stamford, along with a sister Karie Tiscia and her husband David of MA. John is also survived by his seven cherished grandchildren Angelica, Lucas, Mckenzie, Noah, Aden, Myranda & Madison along with a great-grandson Tayvon.

Besides his parents John was predeceased by his beloved wife Michele Matysck Darling.
