John P. Forlenzo, 67 of Riverside, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Stamford Hospital. Born on March 17, 1943 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Catherine DeLuca Forlenzo.
John was a former employee for Telesco Fuel and Mason Supply, D’Addario Industries and retired from O & G Industries in 2003. He was a member of the 191 Teamsters Union. In the construction industry, he was known as “Mr. Clean”. John was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the Vietnam War era.
John is survived by his wife Linda Forlenzo of Riverside; his son, John P. Forlenzo, Jr. and his wife Karen of Shelton; his daughter, Lisa Walsh of Norwalk; and his six grandchildren, Jessica, Brittany, Austin and Declan Forlenzo and Michael and Sean Walsh.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by two brothers, Salvatore and Thomas Forlenzo.
A Funeral Procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 9:15AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4 Riverside Avenue, Riverside, CT 06878. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum at Putnam Cemetery, Greenwich, CT. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 4:00-8:00PM.
