John Gesualdi, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 16, 2007, with his family at his side. Born October 7, 1925 in Panni, Foggia, Italy, he was the son of the late Luigi and Angela Procaccino Gesualdi.
John was a graduate of Salerno University in Italy and the Robert Merrill Business School in Stamford. He was a teacher in Italy and later he was the Vice President of Auto Electric and Battery Corporation in Stamford for thirty nine years. After he retired from Auto Electric and Battery, he worked as the office manager for Gesualdi Construction. John was also the former treasurer for Unico National Club, Stamford Chapter and Lega Arena Dasa.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Catherine Pelli Gesualdi of Stamford; and his son, Louis J. Gesualdi of Stamford. A brother, Sam Gesualdi and his wife Rose of Darien; and two sisters, Lena and Paola Minichillo both of Italy; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Friday, October 19, 2007 from 4:00 8:00 PM. On Saturday, October 20, 2007 a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM at St. Bridget of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. Johns Mausoleum in Darien.
