John J. Rose, 84, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Stamford Hospital. Born February 14, 1924 in Stamford, he was the son of the late George and Frances Mahala Rosice.

John was the owner of Rose Radio and TV, retiring after forty years in 1988. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps having served in WWII. He was a member of the Iwo Jima Association, the American Legion and the Marine Corps Association.

John is survived by his wife, Kathleen Parker Rose of Stamford; two daughters, Barbara Fuller of Milford; and Cynthia R. Knapp and her husband Donald P. S. Knapp of Stamford; a sister, Florence Griffin of Denver, CO; and a brother, Robert Rosic of Darien. Four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five sisters, Mamie Pyrek, Helen Danko, Pauline Seidl, Agnes Mategrano and Ann Collins; and four brothers, George, Theodore, Frank and Edward Rosic.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 2 at 10:30 AM at St. Bridget of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made in John’s name to St. Bridget of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902.
