Joseph Chiaia, 85, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 1, 2016. Joseph was born in Italy on October 7, 1930 to the late Stefano and Josephine Chiaia.
Joseph is survived by his wife Maud Simon Chiaia, his daughter Josie Fraioli and her husband Carlo, his son-in-law Stewart Sprosue and his beloved granddaughters, Lianna Melzer and her husband Danny, and Celia Sprouse, and his two great-grandchildren, Rylee and Madison.
Besides his parents, Joseph is predeceased by his daughter Lisa Sprouse.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 5, 2016 at 10:00AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, 1200 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. There will be no calling hours and the interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Joseph’s memory to the Carl and Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center, c/o Stamford Hospital, 30 Shelburne Road, Stamford, CT 06902.
