Joseph Mancini Jr

Joseph J. Mancini, Jr., 61, of New Milford, formerly of Stamford, passed away suddenly on August 13, 2016 at Stamford Hospital. Joseph was born in Stamford on December 7, 1954 the son of Joseph J. Mancini, Sr. and the late Rose Terranova Mancini.
Joseph graduated Stamford Catholic High School, Class of 1973, where he was an athletic standout in both baseball and basketball. He went on to attend Loyola College in Baltimore, MD, Class of 1977, where he also played baseball. Joseph was a supervisor for the United States Postal Service for over forty years and was just inducted into the Stamford Old Timers Association. Joe had a love of music and shared that with his ‘girls’, taking them to many concerts. Joe had no greater love then that for his daughters; he was a dedicated father, deeply involved in the caring and raising of his ‘girls’.
Besides his father, Joe is survived by his five daughters; Jenna, Arden, Lily and Imre Mancini and Diana Rodriguez-Ingram and her daughter Piper Lorelei, all of New Milford, the mother of his children Maria Rodriguez of New Milford, his siblings; Melanie Sierpina and her husband Mike of Stamford, Kathi Joyce and her husband Jack of Stamford and Thomas Mancini and his wife Lisa of Matthews, NC. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, also survive.
A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT at 9:30AM on Friday August 19, 2016 and proceed to St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday August 18, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00PM. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier RC Church in New Milford, CT at a date to be announced.
