Joseph P. Munko

Joseph P. Munko, 80 of Stamford passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2007. Born June 16, 1927 in Czechoslovakia, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Suzanna Kapusta Munko.
Joseph was a builder with his firm, The Munko Brothers Builders. He was a Veteran of the US Navy having served in WWII.
He is survived by his former wife, Vera E. Munko; a daughter, Deborah E. Munko; two sons, Joseph T. Munko; and Lawrence A. Munko; two daughters, Doreen M. Munko-Nelson; and Donna J. Bowen; a brother, Paul T. Munko; two sisters, Anna S. Eitelmann; and Margaret S. Lawson; twelve grandchildren, one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at St. Benedict Our Lady of Montserrat RC Church, 1 St. Benedict Circle, Stamford at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery in Darien. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to Southbury Training School, Cottage 2, P.O. Box 872, Southbury, CT 06488-0901.
