Joseph Tranquilus, 57, of Stamford, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009. He was born in Jacmel, Haiti, on November 20, 1951. He has been a Stamford resident since 1986 and was an employee of Polycast for 20 years, prior to his death.
He was a graduate of Lycee Celie Lamour High School de Jacmel and Port-au-Prince Law School, LaFaculte de droit et des Sciences Economiques, where he was the first person from his family to graduate from a University. Joseph served 10 years of military service from 1976-1986 until he moved to the United States of America to live.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Lionese Tranquilus of Stamford; three sons, Lionel Tranquilus of Stamford, Gilbert Tranquilus of NJ, and Pierre Richard Tranquilus & his wife Saia of NJ; four daughters, Shelly Tranquilus Cledo & her husband Wesner, Lisa Tranquilus, Patricia Tranquilus, and Sandy Tranquilus of Stamford; three sisters-in-law, Laurette, Paulette, and Geurda all of NJ; six grandchildren; and many friends.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Friday June 19 from 4:00 �" 8:00 PM. A service will be held at 6:00 PM at the funeral home on Friday. Interment will be held in Haiti at a future date.
