Joseph Vitiello

Joseph Vitiello, 71, passed away on Wednesday May 24, 2006 at Stamford Hospital. Born on September 20, 1934 in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Filomena DiMeglio Vitiello.
He was an electrician with the Local #3 New York City, NY working with various contractors for thirty five years. He then retired in 1996. He was a booster for the VFW in Bronx, NY.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy A. Vitiello of Stamford; a sister, Mary Contegiacomo of Queens, NY; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, David Vitiello.
There will be calling hours at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Sunday May 28, 2006 from 2:00 4:00 PM and on Monday May 29, 2006 from 4:00 8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:20 AM on Tuesday May 30, 2006 and proceed to St. Bridget of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Entombment will then follow at St. Marys RC Cemetery, North Street, Greenwich. www.cognetta.com
