Josephine Kirkland,86, of Stamford passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Stamford Hospital. She was born on July 31, 1927 in New London, CT to the late Carl and Helen Sullivan Schnellen.
Josephine was a member of the Anglican Church of the Advent in Greenwich and was employed for seventeen years before her retirement for the City of Stamford as an Account Clerk in the Assessor’s Office.
She is survived by her loving children Mark Kirkland and his wife Diane of Stamford, Matthew C. Kirkland and his wife Patricia of Michigan and five grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Josephine was predeceased by her husband Herbert J. Kirkland.

A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 9:20 AM for a Requiem Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at the Anglican Church of the Advent at the North Greenwich Congregational Church, 606 Riversville Road, No. Greenwich, CT. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
