Josephine Shuhl, 92 of Stamford, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at St. Camillus Health Care Center. Born on January 17, 1918 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the Julian and Veronica Usczinska Gumkowski.
Josephine is survived by her four daughters, Marion Sachuk of PA, Catherine Laszlo of Redding, CT, Joann Librandi of Stamford and Arlene Bria of NY. Nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also survive
In addition to her parents, Josephine was predeceased by her husband, William Shuhl; her sister Sophie Kowalsky; her four brothers, Edward, Frank, Joseph and Charles Gumkowski; and her loving granddaughter, Carolyn Hrusovsky.
A Funeral Procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 at 9:20AM on Thursday, July 15, 2010 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM At Holy Name of Jesus Church, 4 Pulaski Street, Stamford, CT 06902. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien, CT. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 4:00-6:00PM.
