Josephine Claps Vitti

Josephine “Chickie” Claps Vitti, 89, a longtime resident of Stamford, CT, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at her home. She was born on February 18, 1926, to the late Louise Gerard and Dominick Barone. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis Claps and her second husband, Ralph Vitti. She is survived by her loving children, Joseph Claps and his wife, Janice of Stamford, Louis Claps and his wife, Ilene, of Boca Raton, FL, and two daughters, Carole Claps of Norwalk and LuAnn Claps of New York City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Barone, and four sisters, Mary Genega, Rose Misuriello, Mildred Fideli, and Anna Champion. She also leaves six beloved grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
There are no calling hours, however, a celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 9:00AM at Sacred Heart Church, Schuyler Ave. Stamford, CT
In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations in Josephine’s memory to her favorite charity: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
