Judith Bourne

Judith Verrier Bourne, 76 passed away suddenly at her home on Tuesday, Oct 3, 2017. Born on June 5, 1941 to the late John B. Verrier, Jr. and Marjorie Hamilton Verrier.
Judy was a longtime and retired Registered Nurse, having served with the Greenwich Woods Health Care Center and the Greenwich Adult Day Care at Nathaniel Witherell Nursing Home. She greatly enjoyed her many trips to Bermuda and walking through Greenwich Point. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed crossword puzzles and many genres of music. Judy was the quintessential grandmother and enjoyed quality time spent with her family.
Judith is survived by her three loving daughters, Patricia Papeika and her husband Joseph of Derby, Susan Swick and her husband Robert of Norwalk, and Kathryn Taylor and her husband James of Arlington, TX. Judy is also survived by her sister Susan V. Hricik and her husband Gerald of Westport, and her brother John B. Verrier, III and his wife Florence D., of Old Greenwich. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren Matthew, Ryan, Megan, and John Swick, along with Andrew, Lucas, and Abigayle Taylor.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, on Saturday morning, October 7, 2017 from 8:15AM to 9:15AM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home immediately following calling hours, traveling to St. Michael’s RC Church, 469 North Street, Greenwich, CT where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at the First Congregational Church of Greenwich Cemetery, Old Greenwich.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Judy’s name to the Nurses Alumni GHA, c/o Sue Martin 95-54 Intervale Rd., Stamford, CT 06905 to support future nursing school attendees.
