Julia Bosses Kaye of Stamford passed away peacefully at 93 years of age on Friday, October 28th, 2022.
Julie, as she was known, was born in Stamford on June 2, 1929 to Hungarian immigrants and was a lifelong resident of the city. She attended Stamford High School and after graduation in 1947 was employed at Conde Nast Publishing. It was there that she met the love of her life and future husband Phil, who was a US Navy veteran. They were married on Thanksgiving Day in 1949.
Julie was a devoted mother and homemaker for her entire life, raising three children,
Philip (Linda) and Susan Sweeny, of Stamford, and Matthew (Mary) of Bethel. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Sarah Sweeny Rysz (Daniel) of Stamford and Sawyer and Leighton Kaye of Bethel.
In her later years, she returned to the workforce and was employed by
Cologne Life Reinsurance Company in Stamford until her retirement.
Julie was predeceased in 1994 by her husband of 44 years, Philip Walter Kaye; her parents,Louis
and Julia Szanislo Bosses, stepmother, Mary Simko Bosses; brother, Louis Bosses; sister, Gloria Slater and half-sister, Helen Golubinski. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Christopher āCJā Sweeny.
Julie was a faithful communicant of St. Bridget of Ireland Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford, CT and as such, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated there on Wednesday, November 30th, 2022 at 11 AM.
Interment will immediately follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, 124 Rockrimmon Road, Stamford, CT.
