Julia Jennie Zorzos

Julia �"Jennie Zorzos, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2007, peacefully in her home. Born June 27, 1929 in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Pangiota Liakopoulos Angelopoulos Stamatellos and Constantine Angelopoulos. She is predeceased by her husband, Anthony Zorzos and step-father, Nicholas Stamatellos.
Jennie grew up in Stamford on Garden Street and went to Stamford High School, and is leaving many relatives and friends. She was known for her great wit and keeping her family close. She is survived by her three children and their families: Reverend Steven Peter Zorzos of Rockville, MD, his wife, Pauline, and their children, Dina Zorzos and Anthony Zorzos; Paula Glenges, her husband, Dean, and their daughter, Alexandra Glenges of Stamford; Maria Zorzos, and her husband, Brett Kubisek, and their children, Antonia Zorzos Kubisek and Michael Zorzos Kubisek of Stamford.
In addition to her children, she is survived by three brothers: George Angelopoulos; Charles Stamatelos of Stamford, and his wife, Barbara, and their children, Christine and Nicole and families; and Louis Stamatellos of Ridgefield, and his wife, Elizabeth, and their children, Nicholas and Anna. She will also be deeply missed by her nephew, Pantelis Karantonis, and his wife, Eleni, and their children, Olga, Tina, Tonia, Maria and Anthony; and her beloved caregiver, Aglaida Sokolowska.
Family will receive friends at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 from 4:00 8:00 PM, with a service being held at 7:30 with Father Poulos officiating. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Church of the Archangels, 1527 Bedford Street, Stamford, at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. www.cognetta.com
