Kasimier �"Charlie’’ Podlaski 89 of Stamford passed away on Friday June 30, 2006.

Born in Stamford on January 10, 1917, he was the son of the late Alexander and Sophie Dembowska Podlaski.

Mr. Podlaski moved to Poland with his family at the age of 3 and was raised there returning to Stamford at the age of 19. He worked in Stamford all of his life, having been employed at Yale & Town in the south end of town for 20 yrs. and then retiring from Pitney Bowes as a machine operator at the age of 72 following many years of service. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Stamford.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary Vassallo Podlaski of Stamford; a daughter, Sophie D. Roedel of Smithtown, NY; a son, Casimir Podlaski of Bristol, CT; a daughter, Mary Morrison of Ridgefield, CT; and a son, Rick Podlaski of Stamford. Seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was predeceased by a brother Matthew, a sister Stella, and a grandson Christopher.

A Funeral Procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Thursday July 6, 2006 at 10:20 AM and proceed to St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. John RC Cemetery, Darien, CT.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home Wednesday July 5, 2006 from 4-7 PM.
