Kathleen Walsh
March 10, 1944 — March 18, 2013
Kathleen P. Walsh, 69, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 18, 2013 at St. Vincent’s Hospital. She was born on March 10, 1944 in County Longford, Ireland to the late Frank and Molly Fitzsimons Brady.
Kathleen was an avid fan of both the women’s and men’s basketball teams of the UConn Huskies. She worked at the International House of Pancakes over 35 years , where she was lovingly known as Kathy. Kathleen was instrumental as a caregiver to her only grandson Martin who is a special needs child with Autism.
She is survived by her loving children Terence J. Walsh and his wife Lisa of Stratford, Ann Marie Walsh of Bethel and Kelly B. Miller and her husband Carlos of Stamford, her husband Martin A. Walsh of Bethel and three sisters Molly, Margaret, Chris and her brothers Michael and Francis. Also surviving are five grandchildren Caitlin, Martin, Shannon, Allison, Maya and a great granddaughter Eden-Marie.
Besides her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by four brothers and a sister.
A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 9:20 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Bridget’s of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
