Konstantinos "Gus" Aivalis, 95, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on July 13, 2013.

He is survived by Katina, his loving wife of 64 years, his daughter Paula Philippopoulos and son-in-law John; and his son Nick Aivalis and daughter-in-law Denise. He was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Konstantinos was born May 16, 1918 in Kastori, Sparta, Greece. He was a World War II Veteran, he worked at Pitney Bowes in Stamford and spent his retired life helping out and spreading smiles at his family's deli. He was also a former member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Parish Council.

Konstantinos will be remembered as a happy loving man that always had a big smile on his face and found great joy in making others laugh. He will be missed dearly but forever cherished by his loved ones.

Funeral services will be held at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church at 1230 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT on Tuesday July 16 at 10:00AM. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163-4777
