Kuljit Singh Anand, who was affectionately known as Prince, was born on March 20, 1967. He came to the United States to pursue his education, earning a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s degree in computer science. He went on to build a distinguished career at Citibank, where he served as Senior Vice President before retiring.
In 1998, Prince married Anurag Anand, the love of his life. Together, they built a loving home and raised their two children, Jasleen and Achal, who were a constant source of pride and joy in his life.
Prince was far more than the roles and titles he held. He was woven into the lives of those around him - a devoted husband and father, a beloved brother and uncle, a trusted mentor, and a steadfast friend. To his nieces, nephews, and many young people throughout the community, he was a source of wisdom, encouragement, and guidance. He was the elder brother so many looked up to and knew they could always turn to.
His life was deeply anchored in Sikhism, which was guided by compassion, service, and a sincere desire to help others. Being moved by his commitment to giving back, he founded a charity service dedicated to helping people who are homeless. His generosity was reflected not only in what he gave, but also in the time, care, and hope he offered so freely to others.
Prince met the world with warmth, resilience, and unwavering optimism. Through every season of life, he remained true to the words by which he lived; Chardi Kala, the ever rising, resilient, and forever in high spirits.
He is survived by his beloved wife, his children, and a wide circle of family, friends, and community members who were fortunate to know him as a brother, uncle, mentor, and friend.
Prince’s wisdom, kindness, and generous spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched. He will always be loved and missed beyond measure.
