Larry Perry, 56, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home, losing his battle with colon cancer on Thursday, October 23, 2014. He was born on September 1, 1958 to Robert Pope, Sr. and the late Bernice Ross-Perry.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of thirty eight years Ehi Renee Perry-Powell of Bridgeport, his son Korean L. Powell of Norwalk, a daughter Stacey R. Perry-Springer and her husband Arthur of Stamford, a stepfather Robert Ross of Norwalk, his father Robert Pope, Sr. and his wife Lucille of Beaufort, SC, three grandchildren Sanyah K. Powell, Thomas J. and Tiana R. Springer. Also surviving are sisters, Donna Watkin-Perry of Stamford, Dorothy, Barbara and Carolyn Pope of Beaufort, SC and Brenda Baily-Pope of Atlanta, GA, brothers Kenneth E. Perry of Bridgeport, Robert Pope, Jr. and Edward Pope of Beaufort, SC. Many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also surviving.
Besides his mother, Larry was predeceased by his sister Stacey M. Ross and his grandparents, Joseph S.Perry,Sr. and Geneva Perry.
A funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 10:30 at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Woodland Place, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 9:00-10:30 AM prior to the funeral service.
