Laura Maple
November 21, 1951 — June 20, 2009
Laura Gene Maple, a lifelong Stamford resident, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2009. Born on November 21, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Frank Eugene and Patricia Combs Maple. She is survived by her brother, Christopher M. Maple of Bennington, NH; and many, many friends.
Laura worked for 36 years for the Childcare Learning Center, as a devoted teacher of preschool children and mentor to her peers. For twenty of those years she was the Head Teacher at the Helen Wolfe Day Care Center on Bedford Street. She was an active volunteer at St. Mary Parish in Stamford and a co-captain of the accounting department of its annual fair.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, on Saturday, July 18 at 10:00 AM. Following the service there will be a “Celebration of Laura’s Life”. Please bring your happy thoughts and memories of this wonderful person. There will be no calling hours. Interment was private.
