Laura G. Tomczyk, 54, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Stamford Hospital. She was born in Stamford on September 17, 1959 to Richard Springer and the late Florence Williams Springer.
Laura was a long time employee of the Marle Northeast Electrical Company in Stamford. She enjoyed spending her free time knitting blankets and scarves for the soldiers overseas. She had a love of the outdoors, country music and spending time with her family.
Laura is survived by her devoted husband Robert J. Tomczyk of Stamford, her loving daughters Michelle L. and Danielle M. Tomczyk both of Stamford, her father Richard Springer of FL, her sisters Florence Pike of FL, Carolyn Springer of Stamford and Lisa Springer of New York. Also surviving is her mother and father in law Anthony and Geraldine Tomczyk of Stamford, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides her mother, she is predeceased by two sisters, Janice and Cheryl Springer.
Family and friends may call at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Monday, April 7, 2014 from 3:00-7:00 PM. A prayer service will be celebrated Monday evening at 5:30 PM during calling hours. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Laura’s memory to the New England Organ Bank, 60 First Avenue, Waltham, MA 02451 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Building, Memphis, TN 38105
