LeRoy C. Faubel

LeRoy C. Faubel, 94, a lifelong Stamford resident, passed away peacefully at his home on February 10, 2026. LeRoy was born in Stamford on December 6, 1931 to the late LeRoy and Helen Gular Faubel.

LeRoy served as a Seaman in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1953. He was an active member of the St. Maurice Roman Catholic Church, where he faithfully served as an usher for many years. Roy, as many called him, was also an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. You could always count on him for a good “dad-joke” or two.

LeRoy is survived by his six children, Roy Faubel of Stamford, Joseph Faubel and his wife, Kathleen of Hawley, Pa., Charles Faubel of Dover, Del., Susan Cornelio and her husband, Philip of Stamford, Debra Johnstone and her husband, James of Stamford and Angela Cornelio and her husband, John of Stamford; grandchildren, Stephen, Daniel, Adrienne, Mark and Becca Faubel, Travis and Shannon Faubel, Regina, Philip and Matthew Cornelio, Nicole and John Cornelio; and great-grandsons, Grayson Lauer, Tyler Faubel, Forrest and Boone Faubel, and great-granddaughters, Jordan Faubel and Angelina Sauveur.

Besides his parents, LeRoy is predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Carmela Lovito Faubel, a sister June Candid and daughters-in-law, Debra Schramm Faubel and Donna Dempsey Faubel.

A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 9:40 AM and proceed to St. Maurice RC Church, 358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rye Brook, NY. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, February 16, 2026 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
