Leroy E. Ritchey
March 30, 1929 — November 15, 2006
Leroy E. Ritchey, 77, of Vista, NY and formerly of Stamford, passed away at Norwalk Hospital on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 after a lengthy illness. Born March 30, 1929 in Kent, CT, he was the son of the late Harold E. and Anna Maude Ritchey.
He was a veteran of the US Navy and prior to his retirement, he was a long time employee of New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad.
He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-four years, Arlene; their five children, Leroy E. Ritchey, Jr. of Wappingers Falls, NY; Robert R. Ritchey of Bowie, MD; Sharon Ritchey DeVeaux of Rocky Mount, NC; Dale A. Ritchey of Bridgeport, CT; and Thomas J. Ritchey of Brewster, NY; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Kersten of Beacon Falls, CT; Mrs. Mildred Mills of Bridgeport, CT; and Anna Novak of Stamford also survive.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Saturday, November 18, 2006 from 1:00 4:00 PM. A service will be held at 3:00 PM at the funeral home on Saturday, with his son, Rev. Robert R. Ritchey, Sr. officiating. Interment will be private.
