Lillian B. Amendola, 86, of Stamford, passed away peacefully at Greenwich Hospital on Thursday March 31, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Lillian was born in New York, NY on March 5, 1930 to the late Charles Benway and Irene Marshall.
Lillian lived her life her way. Strong, determined and accomplished. Wonderful Holiday memories with her grandchildren playing Racko, cards and Disney Yahtzee. The yearly lobster cookouts, the Sunday crossword puzzle. Picture puzzles, the Game show network, bingo, bowling and her beloved Senior Center. Tai Chi, Line dancing, dominoes with her dear friend, Phyllis.
Lillian is survived by her son Dennis Amendola of Stamford, her grandchildren, Robyn Amendola of Maryland, Kim Amendola and her fiancé Brian West of Norwalk, her loved nieces and nephews and her sister Nancy Bernstein of White Plains, NY.
Besides her parents, Lillian is predeceased by her brothers Alfred and Charlie Benway.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Wednesday April 6, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00PM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Lillian’s name to The Stamford Senior Center, 888 Washington Blvd., Stamford, CT 06901.
