Lillian Bernardo, 93, of Trumbull and formerly of Stamford, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. She was born in Bronx, New York on May 9, 1926 to the late Libro and Rebecca Flora Ferrara.
Lillian worked at Schick’s and Norma Hoffman in Stamford before her marriage. She enjoyed cooking, getting together with her friends and family and traditions, especially dinner with her family every Thursday.
Lillian is survived by her devoted husband of sixty five years, Anthony Bernardo of Trumbull, her loving children, Rebecca Whiteley and her husband James of Norwalk and Anthony Bernardo of Fairfield, as well as her grandchildren, Sarah and her husband Ben and Michael, Jameson, Victoria, Nicholas and Jessica.
Besides her parents, Lillian was also predeceased by three brothers, Carmen, Salvatore and Vincent Ferrara and a sister, Desdeamona Baldino.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Monday morning, September 16, 2019 from 10:30 AM-12:00 PM with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:30 PM at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, North Street, Greenwich.
