Lily Burns

Lily A. Biancardi Burns, 77, of Stamford passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at Stamford Hospital. She was born in Stamford on February 5, 1934 to the late Ralph and Stella Tortora Biancardi, Sr.
Lily was a cafeteria worker with the Stamford Board of Education, City of Stamford for eighteen years until her retirement in 2006. She was an avid and passionate Bingo player at St. Mary’s Church and enjoyed having lunch with her close friends from St. Mary’s Church.
Lily is survived by her loving son Charles A. Burns, Jr. of Norwalk and her loving daughter Linda Tamborino and her husband Mario of Stamford; three loving grandchildren Kelley, Stefanie, Mario and one great granddaughter Caroline Grace. She is also survived by many close friends and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Charles A. Burns, Sr who passed away on December 4, 1987 and her brothers Victor Biancardi and Ralph Biancardi, Jr.
A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 9:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lily’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Building, Memphis, TN 38105
