Linda Matisons

Linda L. Matisons, 93, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 14, 2013 at Greenwich Hospital. Linda was born September 16, 1919 in Finland to the late William and Hulda Koskimaki Viro. After being raised in Finland, Linda managed to survive World War II with her son on her hip.
Linda traveled the world extensively with her late husband Miklis Matisons, a sea captian, and enjoyed fashion, interior design and reading.
Linda is survived by her two loving granddaughters; Jamie Matisons and Melissa Matison-Ponce and her husband Chris, as well as a great-grandson, Ryan Wood, all of North Carolina.
Besides her parents and husband, Linda is predeceased by her son Michael D. Matisons and four sisters.
A graveside service will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery, Heckler Avenue, Darien on Tuesday May 21, 2013 at 11:00AM. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT is honored to assist the Matisons family with the arrangements.
