Lorenzo Villani, age 97, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 with his family by his side. Born on December 12, 1912 in the Bronx, New York, Lorenzo moved to Stamford in 2001.
He is survived by his two sons, Thomas Villani of Stamford, CT and Michael Villani of Tarpon Springs, FL; four grandchildren, Robert Villani, Joanne Villani, Matthew Villani and Michelle Dellorusso; two great-grandchildren, Jack Dellorusso, Jr. and Michael Villani.
Lorenzo was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Giovanna Villani.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, April 5, 2010 from 4:00-8:00PM at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Funeral Procession will leave the Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 9:20AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at St. Mary’s Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, CT. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum in Putnam Cemetery, Greenwich, CT.
