Lorraine Cantillo
October 20, 1938 — August 15, 2011
Lorraine S. Cantillo, 72, of Kent, CT entered into eternal rest on August 15, 2011. Lorraine was born on October 20, 1938 in Stamford to the late Louis and Mary Cordova Cantillo.
Lorraine was a graduate of Stamford High School Class of 1956. She was employed at Conde Nast of Stamford as a cost accountant from 1956-1966 and then worked as a full charge bookkeeper and office manager at Toyota of Stamford from 1968-1978, including various other positions. She was an avid league bowler, loved ceramics. She was an excellent cook and was very proud of her holiday gatherings. Lorraine loved her family and friends and kept in touch with everyone throughout her life.
Recently, Lorraine resided at the Kent Specialty Care Center in Kent, CT where she embraced this new chapter of her life. She found new friendships and purpose. She was very involved in the activities, taking up painting , crafts and sharing her cooking skills. Lorraine often provided friendship and support to the other residents.
She is survived by her loving Michael P. Cantillo of Longwood, FL, two nephews, Tommy Cantillo, Jr. of Orange, CT, Stephen Cantillo of Port St. Lucie, FL and her niece Cindy Cantillo of Orange, CT. Also four great nephews and one great niece survive.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Tom Cantillo.
A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 9:40 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
