Lorraine Greco

Lorraine Greco, 87, of Stamford entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 31, 2018. She was born on August 26, 1930 the daughter of the late Gus Michael Varunes and Frances Davelis David.
She graduated from Wright Technical School and became a successful hairdresser. Lorraine owned a salon and then worked for many years at Newfield Coiffures with a following of clients that became dear friends.
Lorraine is survived by her husband of 66 wonderful years, Louis E. Greco of Stamford, her beloved daughters, Diane Davenport and her husband John of Wallingford and Carolyn Murphy and her husband John of Sandy Hook; nine beautiful grandchildren, Jessica Polcer, Laura Cortese, Shawn Davenport, Brad Deicke, Adam Davenport, Katie Parker, Mary Jordana Kloc, Matthew Murphy and Michael Murphy; three adorable great grandchildren, Kennedy Cortese, Miller Cortese and Nicholas Davenport. She is also survived by her dear sister-in-law Barbara Varunes, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Lorraine was predeceased by her cherished brothers George and John Varunes and her sister Bessie Pappas, who lovingly helped raise her.
Lorraine was an enthusiastic member of her church choir and served as a president of the Philoptochos Society. Although Lorraine faced many physical challenges in the latter years of her life, she persevered with great grace and dignity and the constant help of her husband. She was a source of inspiration, courage and formidable strength. Her sense of humor, generosity and concern for others will never be forgotten. She will be remembered for her overflowing heart and love forever.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 10:30AM for Interment at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM.
