Lorraine Mattis

Lorraine Mattis, 86, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Regency of Stamford. She was born on October 26, 1928 in Stamford to the late Edward and Susan Mazza.
Lorraine was a devoted wife and loving mother.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard G. Mattis of Stamford, her daughter, Lynne Cooper of FL, a sister Joan Smeland of Canaan, CT, a brother Ed Mazza of Noroton, CT and three grandchildren, four great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her sons, Gary and John Currivan and a sister Vera Calabrese.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford at 11:00 AM. There will be no calling hours. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home is honored to assist the Mattis family with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lorraine’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, I-91 Tech Ctr, Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3045
