Louis P. Desiato, Sr.

Louis P. DeSiato, Sr., 87, died on Thursday September 7, 2006 at his home in Stamford. Born September 28, 1918 in Waterbury, CT, and raised in Willimantic, CT, he was the son of the late Dominick and Rose Carusello DeSiato.
He was a self-employed plumber for forty years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Local 777 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union. He was a member of the Springdale A. C., the Springdale American Legion, and a member of the Springdale V.F.W. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army in the 2nd Division Battery C 12th Field Artillery Battalion receiving the Bronze Star. He was an avid golf player and made a hole in one in 1996 and 1999. He played with his �"cocoon golf buddies.
He is survived by his wife, Yolanda Caccavella DeSiato; his son, Louis P. Jr. and his wife, Carol Battinelli DeSiato; his daughter, Rosanne DeSiato Tassitano and her husband Frank Sr.; four grandchildren, Frank Tassitano, Jr., Louis and Dana Terenzio DeSiato III, and Christopher DeSiato; a great granddaughter, Lexi Ann; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son, Dominick DeSiato; his brother, Felix DeSiato; and sister-in-law, Angelina Giordano DeSiato.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, at 10:20 AM on Monday September 11, 2006 and proceed to Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.
