Louise M. Montefuscoli, 87, of Stamford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 22, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband Genaro Montefuscoli.She was born in Stamford on March 25, 1926 to the late Nicholas and Josephine Merole DiSette.
Louise retired from Pitney Bowes as a clerk in 1993, having been employed for eight years. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Her family was her life. She made holidays special and loved to knit, play Bingo and loved to travel with her husband and taking the bus to Mohegan Sun . Louise was also known as the “Tomato Lady”. She will be greatly missed by her family who loved her dearly.
Louise is survived by her loving children Jo-Ann Lowman and her husband Cliff, Jeanne Dunn and her husband Donovan , Gennaro Montefuscoli and his wife Robin and Louisa Dunn and her husband David. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Dawn and Christopher Silver, Christine and Michael Cotas, Cori and Brian Meeker, Donovan and Kimberly Dunn, Jr., Wendy and Sebastian Kaminski, Michael and Nicolle and Kelli Dunn, Gennaro Montefuscoli, Jr., David and Alina Dunn, Jr. and Summer Montefuscoli; great grandchildren Alexis Cotas, Gabriella Cotas, Olivia Silver, Gianna Dunn, Ava Silver and Ariel Dunn.Also survived by her sister Rose Cipri of Stamford and Philomena Scognamiglio of Naples, Italy and her sister in law Dora Connolly.
Besides her parents and her husband, Louise was predeceased by her brother Alexander DiSette and her sister Jeanne Avantino.
Family and friends may call at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Monday, November 25, 2013 from 9:00-11:00 AM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral after calling hours on Monday at 11:15 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien.
