Lucy Barker

Mrs. Lucy Ann Barker, 63, died on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Stamford Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born February 18, 1946 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Wilhelmina Paris Rucker and George Lee Rucker.
She was a lifelong Stamford resident. Mrs. Barker was a dear friend to many and a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, niece and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Louis Barker, Jr.; an uncle, Dave Rucker; and a step brother, Darryl Jackson.
Survivors include her children, Mia Rucker-Dimbo; Adrian Barker; a step-son, Louis Barker, III; four sisters: Georgana Rucker, Vivian Rucker, Barbara Malachi and Mary Bryant; a step sister, Robin Jackson; a brother, Husani Basiyr; two step-brothers, James and David Jackson; three sisters-in-law, Lorine Murphy, Mary Latimer and Rosetta Pearson; a brother-in-law, Lester Latimer; three grandchildren: Jasmine Hancock, Sincere Barker and Taj Rucker-Dimbo; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 12 from 6:00 �" 8:00 PM at the Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Grove Street, Stamford with Pastor Tommy Jackson officiating. Interment will be private. There will be no calling hours.
