Lucy Tarantino Chojnowski, 85, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 23, 2006. Born April 3, 1921 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late John and Henrietta Tarantino.
Moving to Stamford at the age of four, she attended Stamford schools. She worked as a sales associate for Kings Department Store and W.F. Woolworths until her retirement at the age of 72. She loved people, and made many friends with both co-workers and customers. She was married to the late Joseph Chojnowski for sixty-three years.
She leaves behind her beloved children: a daughter, Frances Thibodeau of Stamford; and two sons, Joseph Chojnowski of Fruitland Park, FL; and Gary Chojnowski of Ladylakes, FL. She was the proud grandmother of two grandsons, Joseph Thibodeau and his wife Dana of Stamford; and Gary Chojnowski and his wife Joey of Davenport, FL; and her most precious great-grandchildren that gave her so much joy: Morgan, Madison, Jonathan, Joseph and Connor. She also leaves her loving brother, Jack Tarantino and his wife Frances; along with her nieces and nephews. Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma, we will miss your love and your self-less devotion to your family. You will always be in our hearts.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Thursday, December 28, 2006 from 8:45 AM to 9:45 AM.
